Our Brussels office serves as a hub for handling matters before the various European institutions in Brussels and in Luxembourg, as well as keeping abreast of the ever changing European legal landscape.

Although tightly connected to our broader EU and Competition practice, the office also operates on a stand-alone basis assisting clients notably in State Aid and European regulatory matters. As the only Norwegian law firm with a Brussels office, we benefit from an established and respected position amongst EU and EEA officials.

Within the field of State Aid, the Brussels office is experienced in assessing various types of State measures, for example aid in connection with public services, banking sector and environmental aid. Our team also represents clients in State Aid proceedings before the EFTA Surveillance Authority and the European Commission. Our Lawyers also represent both claimants and defendants in litigating State Aid matters.

Within EU regulatory matters the Brussels' office core expertise is the compatibility of national law with EU/EEA Law. We devise and carry out strategies to bring about regulatory changes, such as by litigating at national and European level. We also assist international clients in instructing outside counsel in other countries in EU/EEA Law matters. Our team regularly litigates major cases before the EU and EFTA courts.
