Erlend Leonhardsen

Erlend is currently on leave of absence.

Erlend works in Schjødt's Oil, gas, offshore & shipping group. Previously, he has been a Research Fellow at the Scandinavian Institute for Maritime Law, Department of Oil and Energy Law, the University of Oslo and a Visiting Researcher at Yale Law School. Prior to joining Schjødt he was a Senior Adviser in the Department of Legal Affairs at the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, where he was appointed Agent for the Norwegian Government in several cases before the European Court of Justice and the EFTA Court and advised the Government in several cases before the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA). Erlend has also published and given presentations both nationally and internationally on such topics as international arbitration and international sanctions, and has taught for several years at the University of Oslo Faculty of Law, including administrative law, EU/EEA Law, international law and human rights.

Erlend holds a law degree from the University of Oslo and an LL.M. from Georgetown University Law Center, where he was a Fulbright scholar.
