Daniel Bergman is a partner in Schjødt’s Transactions department, focusing on private equity and cross-border M&A. He advises financial sponsors, corporates and financial institutions on complex domestic and international transactions, including acquisitions and disposals, minority investments, joint ventures and structured investments. He has experience across a wide range of sectors, including financial institutions, fintech, tech, consumer goods and retail. Daniel has extensive experience acting for and opposite international private equity houses and institutional investors on sponsor-led transactions across Europe and Asia, often involving multiple jurisdictions and sophisticated transaction structures. His practice also includes advising corporates, private equity sponsors and banks on strategic acquisitions and equity investments.

Prior to joining Schjødt, Daniel spent more than a decade with leading international law firms, including Linklaters, where he worked on private M&A and private equity transactions across Europe, East Asia and South East Asia. He has also held an in-house leadership role with a global investment firm, where he headed the global transaction legal team and worked closely with investment professionals on transactions across a wide range of asset classes. Daniel began his career in the investment banking legal team at Goldman Sachs, where he worked closely with investment bankers on equity and debt capital markets transactions. This background has shaped his commercial and transaction-driven approach, with a strong focus on execution, risk management and teamwork. 

He has lived and worked extensively abroad, including in London, Zug, Hong Kong, Shanghai and Bangkok, and regularly advises on international transactions involving Nordic and non-Nordic parties. Daniel holds a Swedish law degree and is an English law qualified solicitor, giving him a strong understanding of both common law and civil law systems. 

Daniel is fluent in English, Swedish and Norwegian, and also speaks Danish, French and German. He has working knowledge of Mandarin and speaks basic Thai.
