Jostein specialises in mergers and acquisitions, advising and representing both domestic and international clients across a broad range of corporate transactions, including mergers, demergers, reorganisations and general corporate matters. His practice frequently involves complex transactions with cross-border and carve-out elements. He also has experience advising on distressed situations, restructuring and insolvency proceedings.

Jostein joined Schjødt in 2019 and has practised law since 2017. In 2024–2025, he worked in the M&A/Private Equity department of Kirkland & Ellis LLP in New York.

Jostein holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Bergen and a Postgraduate Diploma in International Finance Law from Queen Mary University of London, where he specialised in M&A, Corporate Finance Law and Banking Law. After completing his Master of Laws degree in 2017, he has further specialised in corporate law and tax law at the University of Bergen.
