Marie Biørnstad

Marie is a member of Schjødt’s Finance department, specialising in banking and finance and debt capital markets. She advises domestic and international sponsors, lenders, arrangers, trustees and borrowers/issuers on a wide range of financing transactions, including high yield bond issuances, corporate financing, acquisition financing, project/asset financing and syndicated loans across a broad range of sectors and industries. Marie has also experience from a secondee position at Nordea Bank Norwegian branch, where she worked with business banking and large corporates. 

She joined Schjødt after graduating from the Faculty of Law at the University of Oslo in 2023. Prior to joining the firm, she was awarded the Norwegian Advisory Council on Bankruptcy’s scholarship for her master’s thesis on Norwegian "super-priority" financing in corporate and debt restructuring, and she also completed an internship at the Supreme Court of Norway during her studies.
