Elsebeth Aaes Jørgensen

Elsebeth specialises in labour and employment law, primarily focusing on the public-sector labour market, where she frequently represents Danish municipalities and regions in court cases and industrial tribunal proceedings. These cases concern issues such as unfair dismissal, discrimination, summary dismissal, civil service law, dismissal of whistleblowers, interpretation of collective agreements, foreign workers and data protection law, and she also assists clients in the private practice sector. In addition, she is a highly experienced litigator.

Elsebeth regularly advises on the above issues relating to employment law, data protection law, general public law issues and pensions. Advice on strategic and management-related aspects of organisational changes also falls within her field of expertise. Another of Elsebeth’s main areas of expertise is conducting legal investigations, and for more than 20 years she has had a central role in a number of high-profile investigation processes.

Elsebeth has been a lawyer since 1996 and was admitted to appear before the Supreme Court in 2005 where she has conducted several cases. Further, she holds an LL.M. in Comparative Law from 2000 from University of San Diego.

In 2017, the Danish Ministry of Justice appointed Elsebeth as a member of ”Undersøgelseskommissionen om SKAT” (the investigative committee into the Danish tax authority “SKAT”), which is the most comprehensive investigative committee ever established in Denmark.
