Tarek is part of Schjødt's Corporate and M&A department. He holds a Master of Laws degree from the University of Oslo, where he specialised in tax law. In addition, Tarek has studied international private law in London at The University of Westminster, with focus on international project finance law, international commercial arbitration law and alternative dispute resolutions.

Prior to joining Schjødt, Tarek was a legal intern at several law firms and public offices including the Norwegian Attorney General and the Norwegian Ministry of Finance, Tax Department. Tarek received Schjødt's scholarship for his master thesis on tax avoidance in both national and international law. During his studies he also founded a non profitable organisation called Obiter Dictum for law students in Norway.

In addition to the Norwegian language, Tarek speaks fluent English and Arabic.
