Tessa Straathof

Senior Lawyer

Tessa focuses on dispute resolution in the shipping industry. She has acted on behalf of shipowners, charterers and shippers in relation to charterparty, bill of lading and sales contracts disputes. Tessa also has experience of wet shipping matters, including in relation to cargo fires, stack collapses and issues of general average. She has acted in arbitrations under LCIA, LMAA, ICC and FOSFA rules and in proceedings before the English High Court. Tessa also has experience advising on non-contentious shipping matters, in particular in respect of charterparty terms. 

Prior to joining Schjødt, Tessa practiced at DLA Piper (London) in relation to both commercial and maritime disputes, acting on significant mandates in the energy, financial services, shipping and commodities sectors and at Stephenson Harwood (London) in their maritime, trade and offshore team.
