Catherine specialises in shipping litigation and general commercial disputes. She has wide ranging experience advising on disputes under or connected to the full range of shipping contracts including charterparties, COAs, bills of lading, pool agreements, MOAs, shipbuilding contracts, commission agreements and bunker supply contracts. 


She acts regularly in London arbitrations (under all the main institutional rules including LMAA, LCIA, ICC as well as ad hoc) and the English courts for a broad variety of clients including shipowners, charterers, shipbrokers, operators, ship managers and P&I and Defence Clubs. Catherine has been involved in a number of matters which have progressed to the UK Supreme Court. She also manages multi-jurisdictional disputes involving connected proceedings in various countries. In addition, Catherine provides advice on non-contentious issues, including assistance with drafting charter party terms and related contracts as well as reviewing MOAs, shipbuilding contracts and dealing with ship sale and purchase matters. 


Prior to joining Schjødt, Catherine was a Partner at Ince (2018-2023).
