James is part of the London shipping team, specialising in casualty work including on-site investigations, dispute resolution, litigation and arbitration.
Prior to joining Schjodt, he worked within the shipping team of Ince & Co (London and Singapore) attending numerous casualties worldwide, including collisions, groundings, fires and cargo related incidents.
Earlier in James' career he was a specialist navigation/pilotage officer in the British Royal Navy before coming ashore to work in the chartering/operations department of a large London based shipowner dealing with the commercial management of tanker and dry cargo vessels and qualifying as a Member of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers (MICS).
