Maria I. Kopsova

Maria is part of Schjødt's industry department and compliance team and works with contract negotiations, corporate investigations, corporate governance, ESG/compliance and crisis management. Maria regularly advises clients on economic sanctions and mitigating sanctions risks. Her previous experience includes being a legal trainee at the Norwegian Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands, where her work focused on international organisations, including the Organisation for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) and the International Criminal Court (ICC).

Maria joined the firm in 2019. She is a graduate of the Faculty of Law of the University of Bergen and Dalhousie University in Canada.

Maria speaks Russian in addition to Norwegian and English.
