Hugo's main focus is on dry shipping disputes. He has experience working on disputes arising under charterparties and bills of lading, most often through arbitration, with additional experience assisting on matters in the High Court. Hugo also has experience advising clients on sanctions related issues. Specifically with regard to current international sanctions regulations, advising ship owners on the clearance of counterparties and cargos. 

Outside of contentious matters, Hugo has assisted on various non-contentious issues in the oil and gas sector. His experience includes drafting commercial contracts for offshore projects. 

As a trainee Hugo was also involved in banking and asset finance matters, notably the re-financing of vessels and ship sale & purchase transactions. 

Hugo trained and qualified at Schjodt in London.
