Preben Willoch

Preben is a partner in our M&A and Energy/Infrastructure groups. He has a particular focus on regulated sector M&A and assists energy companies, private equity sponsors and infrastructure investors with corporate, contractual and regulatory advice in relation to their operations and M&A. Internationally he assists governments and international energy companies. 

He has over 20 years’ experience from assisting energy industry players, both as external advisor and as in-house lawyer. He has been involved as advisor to potential purchasers in most of the major transactions within the Norwegian infrastructure and upstream related energy industries over the past fifteen years. Internationally Preben has advised international energy companies on M&A and new ventures work including evaluation of different jurisdictions for potential entry strategies in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. He has further advised Governments and State Oil Companies on the structure and implementation of energy regulatory framework, host government contract instruments such as Production Sharing Agreements and on contractual matters. 

Preben has acted as Senior Vice-Chair of the Oil and Gas Law Committee of the International Bar Association and is a member of the Association of International Energy Negotiators
