Guy focuses on dispute resolution and has broad experience of advising shipowners, charterers and cargo interests in relation to disputes under charterparties, bills of lading, and sale and purchase contracts. He also has experience in wet shipping matters such as unsafe port claims, collisions and groundings. He regularly advises in relation to sanctions and has also worked on a number of marine insurance matters including total losses and coverage disputes under the hull, war and cargo clauses.
Guy regularly acts in arbitration as well as in the English High Court and the appellate courts. He has extensive experience of various forms of alternative dispute resolution.
Before joining Schjødt in October 2021, Guy trained and qualified at Ince in London, where he focused on shipping, international trade and insurance matters. He spent four months on secondment to a major pool operator and bunker trader.
