Partner, PhD
Admitted to the Supreme Court
Hugo is a partner in the firm's departments for tax and M&A. He joined the firm in 2011, and specialises in taxation, M&A and capital markets.
Hugo has 30 years experience in tax, corporate, stock exchange and securities law having worked both as a practitioner, an academic and as a part-time judge (vice-chairman) at the Bergen City Court. At the university he was subject co-ordinator for tax legislation, corporate law and securities/stock exchange legislation. His PhD relates to the financing of limited companies. At Schjødt Hugo advice and represents both major private and public sector clients on questions involving tax law, general corporate law, corporate finance and private equity. Hugo has extensive experience chairing the Appeals Board of the Central Office of Large sized Companies, and as a deputy member of the Appeals Board of Oslo Stock Exchange, editor of a tax periodical and a member of the editor's board of two other scientific periodicals within tax and company law. He has published more than fifty articles, books and contributions to books within his working field, and is often used as a speaker/lecturer for both private and public sector. He has been chairing the board of several companies.
Hugo is an experienced litigator and is admitted to the Norwegian Supreme Court.
